It began in 1958 as a private club for Vancouver artists and musicians and opened its first theater in 1964 in a converted gospel hall. It calls itself Western Canada's largest theater company. It runs three Vancouver stages, puts on about 20 productions a season, tours BC, and has premiered more than a hundred Canadian plays.
